Experience the comforting and umami-rich flavors of Japanese cuisine with Ramen, a beloved noodle soup that combines a savory broth, tender noodles, and an array of flavorful toppings. Perfect for a cozy dinner or a special culinary treat, Ramen is both satisfying and versatile, allowing you to tailor it to your taste.

Ingredients

For the Broth:
  • 6 cups chicken or pork broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
For the Noodles and Toppings:
  • 4 servings fresh or dried ramen noodles
  • 2 soft-boiled eggs, halved
  • 4 slices chashu pork (optional)
  • 1 cup baby spinach or bok choy
  • 1/2 cup corn kernels
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Nori (seaweed sheets), for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Broth

In a large pot, combine the broth, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, miso paste, and sesame oil. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat and let it cook for 15–20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Strain the broth to remove ginger slices and garlic pieces if desired.

  2. Cook the Noodles

Cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  3. Prepare the Toppings

Soft-boil the eggs by boiling for 6–7 minutes, then transferring them to ice water before peeling. Slice the eggs in half. If using chashu pork, heat the slices lightly in a skillet or microwave. Wash and prepare the greens.

  4. Assemble the Ramen

Divide the cooked noodles into serving bowls. Pour the hot broth over the noodles. Arrange the toppings: soft-boiled eggs, chashu pork, greens, corn, and green onions. Garnish with nori sheets and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

  5. Serve

Serve the Ramen immediately while hot. Allow each diner to mix the ingredients as they like for a personalized taste experience.

Serving

Ramen pairs wonderfully with pickled vegetables or a side of gyoza (Japanese dumplings). Customize with chili oil, extra soy sauce, or fresh herbs for added depth.

Delight in the warm, layered flavors of Ramen - a dish that balances rich broth, tender noodles, and fresh toppings, perfect for sharing with family or savoring solo.
