- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt to taste
For the Butter Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon paprika or red pepper flakes
Instructions
-
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the egg and water gradually, mixing until a smooth dough forms. Knead for 5–7 minutes until elastic. Cover with a cloth and let rest for 30 minutes.
-
Make the Filling
In a bowl, mix ground meat with grated onion, salt, pepper, and paprika until well combined.
-
Shape the Manti
Roll out the dough on a floured surface until very thin. Cut into small squares, about 2 inches each. Place a small amount of filling in the center of each square, then fold the corners together to form a small dumpling. Pinch the edges to seal.
-
Cook the Manti
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Gently drop the dumplings into the water and cook for 6–8 minutes, until tender. Drain and transfer to a serving dish.
-
Prepare the Yogurt Sauce
In a bowl, combine yogurt, minced garlic, and salt. Spread over the cooked manti.
-
Make the Butter Sauce
In a small pan, melt butter and add paprika or red pepper flakes. Pour over the yogurt-covered manti.
-
Serve
Serve Manti warm, garnished with fresh herbs like parsley or mint if desired.

Manti pairs beautifully with a simple salad or pickled vegetables. Each bite combines tender dumplings, savory meat, and creamy yogurt for a comforting and unforgettable Turkish experience.
