Tipping

Tipping is customary but not mandatory. In restaurants, around 5–10% is typical if a service charge is not included. Small tips are also appreciated by hotel staff, taxi drivers, and guides.

Latvia uses plug types C and F (European standard). The standard voltage is 230 V with a frequency of 50 Hz.

The official language is Latvian. Russian is also widely spoken, particularly among older generations. English is commonly understood in cities and tourist areas.
