Safety

Eswatini is generally safe for travellers, though petty crime such as pickpocketing can occur in busy areas, including around Mbabane. Standard precautions are advised.

Body language

Handshakes are a common form of greeting. Respectful communication is important, especially toward elders and community leaders.

Business hours

Offices typically operate Monday to Friday, from around 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some businesses may open on Saturdays; Sundays are usually quieter.

The official languages are Swazi (siSwati) and English. English is widely used in government, education, and business.
