Tipping

Tipping is customary in Belize. In restaurants, around 10–15% is typical if a service charge is not included. Tips are also appreciated by hotel staff, drivers, and tour guides.

Belize uses plug types A, B, and G. The standard voltage is 110 V with a frequency of 60 Hz.

Drinking water

Tap water is generally safe in major towns and tourist areas, but bottled water is recommended in rural regions and islands.

Offices typically operate Monday to Friday, from around 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Tourist businesses often open daily, including weekends.

The official language is English. Belizean Creole and Spanish are also widely spoken throughout the country.
