- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
-
Prepare the Fish
Rinse the Zambezi bream under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Score the fish lightly on both sides to help the seasoning penetrate.
-
Season the Fish
Rub olive oil all over the fish, then season with salt, pepper, paprika, coriander, and chili flakes if using. Stuff the cavity of each fish with lemon slices and half of the minced garlic.

Cook the Fish
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Place the fish on the grill or in the skillet and cook for 5–7 minutes on each side, or until the flesh is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Baste occasionally with the remaining garlic and olive oil mixture for extra flavor.
-
Serve
Transfer the cooked bream to a serving platter and garnish with fresh parsley and additional lemon slices.
Serving
Serve the Zambezi Bream with steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad for a light and wholesome meal. Enjoy the delicate, slightly smoky flavor of this delicious fish, perfect for a relaxing dinner or entertaining guests.
