Ingredients

  • 250g paneer, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup thick yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • Skewers, soaked in water if wooden

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade

In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, cumin powder, lemon juice, oil, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.

  2. Marinate the Paneer

Add the paneer cubes, bell pepper, and onion pieces to the marinade. Gently coat them all with the mixture. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, allowing the flavors to infuse.

  3. Skewer the Ingredients

Thread the marinated paneer, bell pepper, and onion alternately onto the skewers.

  4. Grill the Paneer Tikka

Preheat a grill or oven to 200°C (390°F). Place the skewers on the grill or a baking tray lined with foil. Grill for 15–20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the paneer is golden and slightly charred at the edges.

  5. Serve

Remove the skewers from heat and transfer to a serving plate. Serve hot with green chutney, lemon wedges, and a sprinkle of chaat masala for extra zing.

Serving

Paneer Tikka pairs wonderfully with naan, roti, or a fresh salad. It’s an irresistible appetizer that captures the essence of Indian spices and smoky flavors, perfect for sharing or enjoying as a savory treat.
