Tipping

Tipping is customary in Germany. In restaurants, around 5–10% is typical, usually by rounding up the bill. Tips are also given to taxi drivers and hotel staff.

Germany uses plug types C and F (European standard). The standard voltage is 230 V with a frequency of 50 Hz.

Drinking water

Tap water is safe to drink throughout the country and is of very high quality.
