Ingredients:

1 lb (0.45 kg) lasagna noodles

1 lb (0.45 kg) ground beef

1 onion, finely chopped

3 cloves of garlic, minced

24 oz (680 g) jar of marinara sauce

15 oz (425 g) ricotta cheese

1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese

2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese

1 teaspoon of dried basil

1 teaspoon of dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened. Stir in the marinara sauce, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat. In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese and grated Parmesan cheese. To assemble the lasagna, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Arrange a layer of cooked lasagna noodles on top. Spread a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a final layer of meat sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Serving:

Serve slices of warm lasagna with a side of garlic bread and a crisp green salad for a complete meal. This classic comfort food is perfect for any occasion, from weeknight dinners to special celebrations. Buon appetito!
