Ingredients:
1 quart (about 1 liter) whole milk
2 tablespoons plain yogurt with live active cultures
Instructions:
Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat until it reaches 180°F (82°C), stirring occasionally to prevent scorching. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the milk cool to 110°F (43°C). In a small bowl, mix the plain yogurt with a few tablespoons of the warm milk until smooth. Pour the yogurt mixture back into the saucepan with the remaining milk and stir to combine. Transfer the mixture to a clean glass container and cover it with a lid. Place the container in a warm spot, such as an oven with the light on or a yogurt maker, and let it sit undisturbed for 8-12 hours, or until thickened. Once the yogurt is set, refrigerate it for at least 4 hours before serving.
Serving:
Enjoy Greek Yogurt on its own or as a base for smoothies, parfaits, dressings, dips, and more. Add honey, fresh fruit, granola, or nuts for a delicious and nutritious breakfast or snack.
