Brigadeiro

Brigadeiro, a beloved Brazilian treat, is a chocolate truffle-like dessert that's irresistibly rich, fudgy, and easy to make. These bite-sized delights are perfect for parties, celebrations, or whenever you crave something sweet. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a taste of Brazil at home.

Ingredients

For Brigadeiro (Makes ~20 pieces)
  • 1 can (14 oz / 395 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tablespoons (0.2 lb / 30 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons (0.1 lb / 30 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (0.5 lb / 120 g) chocolate sprinkles (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, to avoid burning.

  2. Cook to Fudgy Perfection

Continue stirring for about 10–15 minutes until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan. It should have a fudge-like consistency.

  3. Cool the Mixture

Remove the pan from heat and transfer the mixture to a greased plate or bowl. Let it cool completely at room temperature or chill in the refrigerator for faster cooling.

  4. Shape the Brigadeiros

Grease your hands with a small amount of butter. Roll small portions of the cooled mixture into balls, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter.

  5. Coat with Sprinkles

Roll each ball in chocolate sprinkles, ensuring they are evenly coated.
