  • 1 cup (5 oz / 140 g) all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup (5.3 oz / 150 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (3.5 oz / 100 g) unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven

    Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix the Dry Ingredients

    In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, and sugar.

  3. Prepare the Wet Ingredients

    Melt butter and golden syrup in a saucepan over low heat. Dissolve baking soda in boiling water and stir into the butter mixture.

  4. Combine & Shape the Dough

    Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until combined. Roll small portions into balls and place them on the baking sheet, flattening slightly.
