Exploring Melktert

Ingredients You'll Need:

1 pastry crust (store-bought or homemade)

2 cups of milk

3 large eggs

1/2 cup of sugar

2 tablespoons of cornstarch

2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour

Preparing Melktert:

Start with a pastry crust, either store-bought or homemade. Line a tart or pie dish with the pastry and pre-bake it until it's golden brown.

In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of milk, 1/2 cup of sugar, and a pinch of salt. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it's hot but not boiling. Remove it from the heat and set it aside.

In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour.

In another bowl, beat 3 large eggs.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the beaten eggs, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
