Paneer Tikka is a popular Indian appetizer that features marinated chunks of paneer (Indian cottage cheese) grilled to perfection. This vegetarian dish is loved for its smoky flavor and aromatic spices, making it a favorite at parties, gatherings, and as a delicious snack any time of the day.

1 lb paneer, cut into cubes

1 cup plain yogurt

2 tablespoons lemon juice

2 teaspoons ginger paste

2 teaspoons garlic paste

2 teaspoons ground cumin

2 teaspoons ground coriander

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon garam masala

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

Salt to taste

1 onion, cut into chunks

1 bell pepper, cut into chunks

1 tomato, cut into chunks

Vegetable oil for brushing

Fresh cilantro for garnish

Lemon wedges for serving

In a large bowl, whisk together yogurt, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, turmeric, garam masala, cayenne pepper, and salt. Add the paneer cubes to the marinade, along with the onion, bell pepper, and tomato chunks. Gently toss until everything is evenly coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Thread the marinated paneer and vegetables onto skewers, alternating between them. Brush the grill grates with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the paneer is golden brown and the vegetables are tender. Remove the skewers from the grill and garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.

Serve Paneer Tikka hot as an appetizer or snack, accompanied by mint chutney or tamarind chutney for dipping. It also pairs well with naan bread or as a topping for salads.

Paneer Tikka is a flavorful and versatile dish that showcases the rich spices and textures of Indian cuisine. Whether enjoyed as a starter at a party or as a quick snack, this grilled paneer dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
