Filling (Khoritz):

1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour

1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup (100g) sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Prepare the Dough In a large bowl, mix flour and baking powder. Add butter and rub into the flour until crumbly. Stir in yogurt, sugar, and vanilla extract. Knead into a smooth dough, cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Make the Filling In a separate bowl, mix flour, melted butter, sugar, and vanilla extract until a crumbly mixture forms.

Assemble the Gata Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough into a large rectangle. Spread the filling evenly, then roll it up into a log. Slice into portions or shape into rounds.

Bake Place the pieces on a baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg for a golden finish. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
