Ingredients You'll Need:

2 Large mud crabs (about 1.5 kg each), cleaned and cut into pieces

6-8 Red chilies, blended into a paste

5 Cloves garlic, minced

1 Thumb-sized ginger, minced

1 Egg, beaten

2 tbsp Vegetable oil

1 cup Tomato ketchup

1/2 cup Water

2 tsp Sugar

Salt to taste

Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Steamed buns (mantou) for serving


Preparing Chili Crab:

Heat the vegetable oil in a large wok or deep frying pan over medium heat.

Add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté until fragrant.

Stir in the blended red chili paste and continue cooking for a few minutes until the oil begins to separate from the paste.

Add the crab pieces and stir-fry for a few minutes until they turn partially red.

Pour in the tomato ketchup, water, sugar, and salt. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
