Ingredients:

4 cups All-Purpose Flour 2 tsp Yeast

1 tsp Sugar

1 tsp Salt

Warm Water (as needed)

Vegetable Oil (for frying)

Instructions:

In a bowl, combine yeast, sugar, and warm water. Allow the yeast to activate and become frothy. In a separate large bowl, mix all-purpose flour and salt. Slowly add the activated yeast mixture to the flour, kneading to form a soft, pliable dough. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a flat, round shape (about 6 inches in diameter). Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the Gurasa flatbreads until they puff up and turn golden brown on both sides. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Serving:

Gurasa is best served warm and can be enjoyed with a variety of accompaniments such as stews, soups, or your favorite Nigerian dishes.
